Bias binding is a versatile technique that involves creating a strip of fabric cut on the bias, which is diagonally across the grain of the fabric. This method allows for flexibility and curves, making it ideal for finishing edges and adding decorative touches to garments.1Â However, making bias binding can present challenges, such as fraying edges and uneven cutting.
Different fabrics will present different challenges when making bias binding:
Sheer fabrics:Â These fabrics can be delicate and prone to snagging. Â It's important to handle them gently and use sharp scissors or a rotary cutter to avoid damage.
